Outstanding tertiary students awarded in Honra Tomasino

One hundred fourteen outstanding undergraduate students were awarded during the Honra Tomasino (Recognition Rites 2019) on August 27, 2019 at the Daragang Magayon Hall (DMH). The Opening Remarks was delivered by Susana C. Cabredo, EdD, Vice-President for Academic Affairs. Rector and President Rev. Fr. Ernesto M. Arceo, OP, shared an inspirational message.

The St. Thomas Aquinas Award for Outstanding Academic Performance was given to 48 students; St. Dominic de Guzman Award for Outstanding Leadership Performance, 3; St. Martin de Porres Award for Outstanding Community Service, 11; Fra. Angelico Award for Outstanding Performance in Culture and the Arts, 13; Rector’s Award, 4; Star of St. Dominic Award, 1, and Blessed Giorgio Frasatti Award for Sports, 2. The St. Raymund de Peñafort Award for Outstanding Teamwork was given to 11 student organizations.

The annual Recognition Rites is spearheaded by the Office of Academic Affairs through the Office of Student Services. The Student Awards Committee facilitates the application, review, and selection process of the awards program. It aims to encourage values formation and recognize individual and group achievements in academics, leadership, service, culture and arts, athletics, and teamwork. Students receive their awards based on their performance from the previous school year.
