GENDER AND REVISED PENAL CODE

All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood. (Article 1, UDHR )

All persons are equal before the law and are entitled without any discrimination to the equal protection of the law. In this respect, the law shall prohibit any discrimination and guarantee to all persons equal and effective protection against discrimination on any ground such as race, color, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. ( Article 26, International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights)

The State recognizes the role of women in nation-building and shall ensure the fundamental equality before the law of women and men. ( Article 2, Section 14, Philippine Constitution)

No person shall be deprived of life liberty and property without the due process of law, nor shall any person be denied of the equal protection of the laws. ( Article 3, Section 1Philippine Constitution)
