JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL ADMISSIONS FOR S.Y. 2022-2023

The Admission Evaluation has been conducted as an alternative to the Admission Test for SY 2022-2023, hence the Office of Guidance and Testing is proposing to adopt the Admission Evaluation procedure for the following reasons:

  1. It is not safe to administer face-to-face Admission Test due to the Covid-19.
  2. Ivy League Universities such as UST Manila and Ateneo de Manila University are not yet administering admission test.
  3. Administration of the test online with proctoring is costly to both the University, and the applicant.

JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL ADMISSION APPLICATION PROCEDURE (Online Application)

The Applicant shall
  1. accomplish the online application form from the UST-Legazpi official Facebook page or the UST-Legazpi website and upload the scanned copy of the required documents.

 

Requirements for Incoming Grade 7: (electronic copy)

 

  1. Duly accomplished online application form.
  2. Certified True Copy of Form 138 of Grade 5 (English, Math, and Science)
  3. Certificate of Candidacy for Grade 6 Completion/ Certificate of Good Moral Character/Certificate of Grade 6 Enrollment
  4. Below are the additional requirements for SPA:

 

 

   ARTS SPECIALIZATION REQUIREMENT
                  Dance  Video of the following:

1.      At least 2 to 3-minute dance performance during a school program (if any)
2.      At least 2 to 3-minute audition video of any chosen dance genre (ballet, hip-hop, folk dance, etc.)

              Theater Arts Video of the following:

1.      At least 2 to 3-minute stage performance during a school program (if any)

2.      Video showcasing the attached audition piece entitled Ang Makasariling Anak (the auditionee may hold a copy of the audition piece as long as the emotions are shown along with the acting skill)

               Visual Arts Artworks including:

1.  At least two (2) previously done drawings and/or paintings, posters, portraits, sculptures, murals, and other artworks
2.  Realistic drawing of family members including pets and façade of the home

              Music-Voice Video of the following:

1.      At least 2 to 3-minute stage performance during a school program (if any)

2.      At least 2 to 3-minute audition video while singing Kundiman/Folk Song and Pop song

Excerpt from the monologue “Ang Makasariling Anak”

 

Naku, naku, may gusto akong bilhin. Maganda ang damit na nakita ko sa mall! Pabgsosyal…ngunit wala akong pera. Ano kaya ang pwede kong gawin?

Alam niyo ba kung saan ako kukuha ng pera? Ah! Alam ko na, kay Mama nalang. Hihingi ako ng pera.

Mama, mama, mama! Pwede po bang pahingi ng pera? May bibilhin lang ako.

Naku, naiwan ni Mama ang kanyang pitaka sa lamesa. Aba! Ang dami palang pera ni Mama, eh! Bakit ang damot niya sa akin? Magkano na nga ba yung gusto ko? Hindi naman siguro mapapansin ni Mama kung kukuha ako ng konti. Wag niyo ako ipagsasabi ha?

Ang ganda naman ng nabili ko. Ang ganda di ba? Oh mama, bakit ang lungkot mo? Ha? Ang pera sa pitaka mo? Aba eh, hindi ko po nakita eh. Bakit po? Pambayad po ang kuryente? Hindi ko po nakita ang pitaka niyo eh. Ha? Nawawalan po kayo? Eto pong damit? Bigay lang po ito sa aking kaibigan.Naku! Pambayad pala ni Mama yun ng kuryente namin yung pera na yun. Hmm. Pero makakahanap naman siguro si Mama ng paraan.

Ma? Ma?Ma! Wala pa po bang pagkain? Ma, nasaan ka na ba? Gutom na ako ah. Ang lakas ng ulan, nako, asan na kaya siya? Gabi na hindi pa rin ako kumakain, bakit kaya wala pa siya? Ano bay an, alam niyang hindi pa ako kumakain hindi man lang umuwi agad. Siguradong naglalakwatsya si Mama!

Oh mama? Bakit basang basa ka? Alam mo na ngang umuulan hindi ka pa umuwi, at gutom na ako, hindi pa ba tayo kakain? Ha? Ako ang magluluto? Bakit ako? Hindi nalang ikaw? May sakit ka? Eh, ayoko, ikaw na. Ano ba naman yan, ako pa ang palulutuin, ako na nga ang gutom dito.

Mmm! Sarap naman nito Ma! Bakit ang tagal mo umuwi? Naglako pa pala si Mama para may pambayad ng kuryente. Tapos yun, nabasa siya. Kaya naman pala niya gawan ng paraan eh. Eh bakit ayaw pa rin niya ako bigyan ng pera para sa mga gusto ko? Hmm! Pangasto lang iyon sa bahay at sa iskul? Nakakainis, palusot lang iyon!

Aba! May field trip daw kami sabi ni Ma’am! Sa Zoo daw! Naku, gusto kong ring pumunta!

Mama! May field trip daw kami! Mama, gusto kong pumunta! Sige nanaman oh? Bakit?

Hmmp! Wala na namang pera? Lagi nalang bang walang pera? Gawan mo ng paraan mama! Kung yung kuryente nga natin nagawan mo ng paraan! Hindi mo siguro ako mahal mama!

 

Requirements fot Transfer Application:(Electronic Copy)(ONLINE)
  1. Duly accomplished application form provided with recently studio taken 2×2 picture with white background and name tag.
  2. Photocopy of Form 138 or Junior High School grades

The Psychometricians shall
  1. check the completeness of the requirements submitted by the applicants and input the admission rating, based from the core subjects (English, Math, and Science).
  2. forward the Special Program in the Arts audition video/portfolio to Junior High School Principal.
  3. forward the submitted requirements of the Transfer applicants to the Junior High School Principal for evaluation.
The Junior High School Principal shall
  1. forward the Special Program in the Arts audition video/portfolio to Junior High School SPA Program Chair for evaluation
The SPA Program Chair shall
  1. evaluate the forwarded Special Program in the Arts audition video/portfolio.
  2. forward evaluation result to the Psychometricians for encoding of rating.

 

The Psychometricians shall
  1. input the rating of the evaluated Special Program in the Arts audition video/portfolio by the Junior High School Program Chair.
  2. forward the admission result to the Junior High School Principal for release.
The Principal shall
  1. release the admission results to the applicants through email and attach the enrollment procedure.
